Officer Jason Yasso Minimize
            Officer Yasso has been employed with the Village of Geneseo since June of 2005. He began as a part time officer with Geneseo while working as a full time officer with the Village of Avon. In June of 2008 Yasso accepted a full time position with Geneseo Police. He continues to work part time for Avon PD. Shortly after coming on board full time with Geneseo PD, Yasso was offered a position as the agency’s police canine handler. Officer Yasso is partnered with K9. Officer Yasso graduated from the Rural Police Training Academy in 1996 and has been employed in the law enforcement field since then. He has spent time employed as a Livingston County 911 Dispatcher, Nunda Police Officer, New York State Park Police Officer, New York State Correction Officer and a New York State University Police Officer.
            Additionally, Officer Yasso is an Instructor/Counselor at the Rural Police Training Academy where he instructs police recruits in several topics. Officer Yasso is also delegated as the in service instructor for the Geneseo Police Department for Firearms, Taser, OC Pepper Spray and other general topics.
            Officer Yasso holds several certifications in many topics. Some of which are; Police Canine Handler, Drug Recognition Expert, School Resource Officer, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing / DWI Detection, Breath Test Operator, Field Training Officer, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Firearms Armorer, Tactical Warrant Service, Active Shooter, Patrol Rifle and Interview and Interrogation.
            Officer Yasso is an Instructor in the following areas; General Topics, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing / DWI Detection, Firearms, Aerosol Subject Restraint, Taser, Specialty Impact Munitions, Distraction Devices, Chemical Munitions, Simunition Scenario Instructor and Advance Firearms.
